Freddie Mercury

The lead singer of the rock group Queen. Mercury’s given name was Farrokh Bulsara. He was in born in Zanzibar, Tanzania to Indian Parsi parents. The singer and his band feature prominently in Good Omens, as any cassette tapes Crowley leaves in his Bentley for more than two weeks seem to automatically convert themselves into “Best of Queen” albums (6).

Freddie Mercury died of the AIDS virus on November 23rd, 1991, approximately a year after Good Omens was published in 1990. A statue of the singer was erected in his honor in Montreux, Switzerland.
