Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the article on [character/place/event/etc] missing?

A: The Lexicon is constantly under construction. We feel that it’s better to have some articles available now, rather than wait until we’ve written every single one. If you want to speed up the process, consider e-mailing us to join the writing team.

Q: What is considered canon?

A: The novel is our main source of material, but some articles also reference Crowley and Aziraphale’s New Year’s Resolutions from 2006. As these were written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, we consider them to be equally a part of canon as the novel itself.

The Lexicon does not currently include information from interviews with the authors or from the 2019 TV series, but we may do so in future.

In a dispute of facts, however, the novel will be given precedence over any other source.

Q: How do you decide which article to write next?

A: Articles (and illustrations, for that matter) are chosen according to the individual writer/artist’s preference, although the articles on important characters have a higher priority than the others.

Q: I found a mistake in one of the articles. What can I do?

A: Please send us an e-mail with any corrections or additional information, and we will (gratefully) correct it as soon as possible.
